Rob Lowe Calls Out Shonda Rhimes & Grey's Anatomy For Objectifying Men

Shonda Rhimes-induced hysteria comes around every Thursday like clockwork. Viewers wait with bated breath for what Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away With Murder have in store — and, of course, they have TV mastermind Shonda Rhimes to thank. But, not everyone is singing the shows' praises. Rob Lowe, for one, just name-checked Grey's when the subject of objectification came up in a recent interview with Vulture.

In the interview, Lowe was discussing his new show The Grinder and said that his character left a TV show gig because he felt objectified. "People go on and on about the objectification of women, and rightly so," he told Vulture. "But what about the objectification of men? When was the last time you saw Grey’s Anatomy? " Lowe may not have been entirely serious with his statement, but he might have a point here nonetheless — see: Patrick Dempsey's character (R.I.P.) being reduced to McDreamy status.
